FOUNDER STORY
Why I Started Won Academy
I did not study abroad or grow up in an international environment. Like many students, I simply wanted to speak English confidently and naturally. The language schools and teachers I met during my learning journey played a huge role in helping me become fluent, and I realized how much the right learning environment can change a student’s future.
At the same time, I often felt disappointed by other language schools that only provided lessons without focusing on real progress or communication skills. Many students spend years studying languages but still feel afraid to speak. That is why I created Won Academy — a school focused not only on lessons, but on helping students build real confidence and practical communication skills.
For children, language learning is especially important. The way they learn during their early years can shape their future opportunities and relationship with languages for a long time. Looking back, I am very grateful that my mother chose the right language school for me. Thanks to that experience, I did not have to struggle with many of the difficulties that other students go through later. I truly believe that the right approach can save children years of frustration and help them grow naturally and confidently.
For adults, I also understand how challenging language learning can be. Even now, I am learning foreign languages as an adult myself. Balancing study with work, responsibilities, and everyday life is not easy, and progress can sometimes feel slow and discouraging. Because of this, I wanted to create a supportive environment where adult learners can enjoy the process, feel motivated, and develop communication skills they can actually use in real life.
